Coach Emily grew up in Andover, MN and Ames, Iowa. In her youth she was a competitive gymnast and track athlete. In middle school she decided to step away from gymnastics and exclusively focus on track and field.
In high school, she was the state long jump champion, pentathlon champion, shuttle hurdle relay champion. Drake relays long jump runner up and had several top 4 state finishes in various events. She also placed 3rd at AAU nationals in the heptathlon her senior year.
Emily furthered her track career at the University of Northern Iowa where she was recruited to be a multi athlete. Throughout her collegiate career, she battled numerous hamstring injuries, but extended her long jump, pentathlon and heptathlon PRs. She was taught how to pole vault and really enjoyed the thrill of that event and competed at the Missouri valley conference, finishing top 10 every healthy season.
Coaching: Emily coaches hurdles at East Ridge High School and helps out with jumps and sprints as well. She with help athletes with off season strength and conditioning and speed work in the off season. Coach Emily will help Woodbury Elite athletes with long, triple and high jump, pentathlon and heptathlon, distance and sprints.
Work: Emily is a Senior Account Executive and helps law firms with their digital marketing and branding their business. She is also a part doula and really enjoys helping families navigate birth and postpartum.
Personal: Mom of 2 active boys who keep her very busy! In her free time she enjoys working out at Flight in Woodbury, hanging out with friends and going to concerts. Emily loves to travel and exploring the world with her kids.
Jamie Lindstrom: Head Throws Coach
Coach Jamie was born and raised across the river in Hudson, Wisconsin. She was a 3-sport athlete in high school (volleyball, basketball, and track and field) and loved balancing every aspect of being a multi sport athlete.
In high school, she was the Wisconsin High School state T&F shot put champion in 2011. She then competed Division 1 and attended the University of Northern Iowa for throws from 2011-2016.
Jamie Redshirted her freshman year, and then made it to NCAA’s first round of nationals for shot put and hammer throw 3 years in a row. She held the school for the weight throw at UNI for several years and ranks top 3 all time in Shot Put and Discus til this day.
Coaching: Jamie coaches basketball and track at Hudson High school and helps athletes with strength and conditioning in the off season. She will be able to help Woodbury Elite athletes with shot put, discus, and javelin!
Work: Jamie is a social worker and specializes in adoption work and placing children from foster care to forever homes.
Personal: Engaged to her fiancé, Bekah, and loving pet parent to a Husky named Kirby. They also have two cats! Jamie loves watching and playing sports, exploring new places in Minnesota, hanging out with friends/family, and staying active.
Taylor Raines: Head Sprint Coach
Coach Taylor grew up in Woodbury, MN, and was a competitive track athlete from a young age.
In high school, Taylor competed for Woodbury High School and claimed top-five finishes in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes in back-to-back state meets (2015, 2016). … She helped her 4X100-meter relay team to a second-place finish at the state championships in 2014. ... She was also a part of the 4X200-meter relay team that placed sixth in 2014.
Taylor furthered her track career at the University of Northern Iowa, where she was recruited for sprints and jumps. She is a current 4X100 school record holder that received a 2nd-place finish at the MVC championships that also qualified her for the NCAA Outdoor West preliminary round. Taylor notched personal best times of 11.7 in the 100 and 24 seconds in the 200. She has made multiple MVC conference appearances and top-10 finishes in both indoor and outdoor seasons.
Coaching: Taylor coaches sprints and jumps at Woodbury High School. Coach Taylor will help Woodbury Elite athletes with short sprints, triple jumps, and high jumps.
Work: Taylor is a Doctor of Chiropractic and practices at Whole Life Chiropractic in Cottage Grove.
Personal: Taylor and her husband, Nolan, just got married and are enjoying newlywed bliss and their new puppy!
